[00:00] Let's take a look at how we can set up a device connection in Ignition to an Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC that is using version 20 firmware or below using Ignition's Legacy CompactLogix driver. The first thing we want to do is log in to the configure section of the gateway web page and scroll down to the OPC-UA server section and click on the devices link. Here on the devices page, we can set up any number of device connections that we want. We then need to click the create new device link and select the Legacy Allen-Bradley CompactLogix driver. After that, we can scroll down and hit next and configure a connection. I'm going to give my device a name of CompactLogix. The only other thing we need to do is in the hostname section, specify the IP address of the device. My device's IP address is 10.20.4.55, and that's pretty much all we need to do. There is the concurrent requests setting which determines the number of simultaneous connections we open up to the PLC at any given time. I'm going to leave that at the default of two and then I'm going to go ahead and click the create new device button at the bottom. Once it is connected, it'll automatically browse the device and bring in any tags that it sees. Once it is finished browsing, I can then go to the quick client located under OPC Connections. Here I can expand my OPC-UA server, go to my devices section, and you'll see my device with all of my tags in it.
