(open in window)[00:00] In this lesson, I'll demonstrate how to create a voice notification profile so that text-to-speech alarm notifications can be delivered to users. I'll start by navigating to the config section of the gateway webpage, and then scrolling down to alarming and I'll click notification. From here, I'll click Create new Alarm notification profile. Before I move on, I wanna talk about the prerequisites for this type of notification profile. The voice notification module allows us to create the profile, and that's dependent on the alarm notification module, so both will need to be installed on the gateway. In addition to these modules, a specific voice module for your desired language also needs to be installed. I'll provide a link to a knowledge base article we have with download links. Note that some voices and languages are only available with specific versions of Ignition. Finally, the notification profile sends these voice messages over the telephone using a SIP compatible phone system or VoIP system, so one will need to be set up. As long as these are taken care of, we can move forward with the profile creation.
[01:02] I'll select VoIP voice notification from the list, and click Next. I'll provide a name for my profile, and then I'll start entering the VoIP gateway settings. First thing I'll need to enter is the gateway address, which is the IP address or domain name of the SIP gateway. After this, I'll provide the username or account, which is generally an extension of the phone system, and then I'll enter the password required to access it. I'm not using a proxy, so I'll leave this field blank. I can then configure some of the call settings. For example, I can specify a max call duration that any call's allowed to take before it's ended. I can also specify the amount of time that the system will wait for the call to be answered before it moves onto the next contact. And finally, I can adjust the voice rate. This notification profile can also be linked to an audit profile, and that way any events such as phone calls and acknowledgements will be stored to the audit system. Then if I expand the advanced properties, there are some additional fields here for specifying an authorization id, if your service requires one in addition to the user or account name, the SIP and RTP ports, local and public bind addresses, and then, if desired, the call audio can be recorded and stored in the Ignition temp directory for debugging purposes.
[02:14] I'll click the create button at the bottom of the page, and once it says that it's registered, I've successfully created a voice notification profile.
