[00:00] With the introduction of Named Queries in Ignition version 7.9.4, reports now allow you to select a Named Query to use as a data source. I'm starting here in the Data tab of my report, and I'm going to click the plus icon and add a Named Query. Setting up a Named Query data source is fairly simple. The first thing I need to do is set the path. I can click on this magnifying glass icon, where it'll bring up a list of all of my current Named Queries. I only have one, so I'm going to select that one and you'll notice that once it was selected, it automatically populated the Parameters and Query sections with the appropriate values. Since it is a Named Query, I can't actually change what the query is, but I can specify a value to pass in for my parameter. With my parameter highlighted, I can click the magnifying glass icon next to the Parameters table and then select the value that I would like to pass in for my list of report parameters. The clicking okay down at the bottom of the list, it'll automatically populate the Value column of the table with the appropriate report parameter. I can also specify a specific data key name up here in the right hand corner. Finally, like most other data sources, Named Queries can be used as part of a Nested Query system as either a Parent or child query.
