[00:00] In this lesson, we will explore the Designer Launcher's ability to create a brand new project in your Ignition Gateway. Here in front of me, I have the Designer Launcher up and running. The first thing I need to do is I need to tell the Launcher which Gateway I want to create a project for. Here I only have one Gateway listed called University. If you have more than one Gateway in your network, you could theoretically have more than one Gateway listed here. So it is important to choose the correct one. I will go ahead and double click on my Gateway. I will go ahead and log in. (keyboard clicking) And now I can see all the available projects in this Gateway. I will create a new one by pressing this button here. And now I can begin to give information to the system about the new project I'm creating.

[01:05] First, I'm gonna give it a name. (keyboard clicking) My project. Notice how I can't have any spaces in my project name. This is fully expected. For my project title, I can have it be anything I want, including spaces. You can also assign this project a parent project. This means that our new project will inherit resources from whatever project I configure here. I can also choose to make this project inheritable, which means my new project will inherit resources to other projects. Keep in mind that inheritable projects are not runnable as standalone projects and are only used for inheritance purposes. I can also give my project a user source. This will be the list of users for this project's authentication and security. Similarly, I can also choose what identity provider will be used for authentication and security in this project.

[02:08] I can also give my project a default database to use. This is because it is possible to have multiple databases in your Ignition Gateway. So assigning a default database is generally a good idea. My project can also have a default tag provider for similar reasons. I can have as many type providers in my Gateway as I want. So assigning a default type provider to your project is generally a good idea. Now, project templates are also very important. These are project resources that we pre-packaged for you to help you in getting started with your project's development. Some of these pre-packaged resources include navigation mechanisms, example windows, and more. Finally, I can give my project a description, which can be anything I want. Once I am done with my description, all I have to do is press the Create New Project button.

[03:10] Now that my project is created, I can go ahead and start the development of the project itself. Just like that, with a few clicks, I can create a brand new project directly from my Designer Launcher.
