[00:00] In this lesson, I'll demonstrate how to manually perform some license related tasks on an EAM controller. I have the gateway webpages open for my controller and agent gateways, and at the moment my agent is currently unlicensed. One of the ways that I can change that is by navigating to my controller's config page and then by scrolling down to enterprise administration and clicking agent tasks. I'll click the create new gateway task, and then I'll start with the activate license task, so I'll keep that one selected and click next. You can set this up so that it executes immediately, at a specific time, or even repeatedly on a schedule, but I'll leave mine on the execute immediately option and click Next. Again, I only have one agent configured, so I'll go ahead and select it and then click next. The next page is where a license key can be specified. If there are any unassigned licenses stored on your gateway, you can also click auto assign licenses to have a license auto filled. I have an unassigned license on mine, so I'll click that and then next. The next page will provide a quick summary of the task and clicking finish will execute it.

[01:10] Now I can switch over to my agent gateway and see that the license is applied. I'll go back to my controller and look at another task. This time I'll select the update license task, which is useful when a change has been made to a license such as the addition of modules. I'll also execute this one immediately. If I were to add modules to multiple agent licenses, I can save time by updating each agent in a group by selecting a specific agent group here, and then the entire group would be updated in one go. Even though I just have one agent, I'll select my default group and click next. I'll once again see a summary page, and then I can click finish to execute the task. If I go to my agent webpage, I can go to the licensing page to see the details of a license and confirm that the updates went through. I'll switch back to the controller and run through one last task, the unactivate license task. Just like before, I'll select the task and then click next.

[02:04] I'll let it execute immediately, and click next. I'll select my agent, and next again, and then click finish on the summary page. Now if I switch back to the agent gateway webpage again, I can see that the license is unactivated and the trial timer is back. Each of these features can also be performed on the license management page on the controller. This is where I preloaded my license before creating the tasks. To see how to use the license management page, you can refer to the corresponding lesson that I'll link below this video.
