(open in window)[00:00] In this lesson, we'll learn how to create a Core historian. The core historian uses QuestDB which is a database solution that is highly optimized for time series data. It's capable of efficient storage, rapid ingestion, and fast querying. It's included in the Core Historian module, so you don't need a connection to an external QuestDB installation. To create one, you would go to the services section of the gateway and then drill into historians. Click on the create historian button. Select the Core historian option. We do recommend this choice of historian for most use cases that require local time series data storage. Go ahead and click on next. On this configure page, you need to provide the historian a name. I'll just name this one Core. You also need to specify the partition interval, so you can click on the dropdown and choose the timeframe in which to separate partitions, and that's all that is required.
[01:06] So you could click on create historian here, and you should see it come through with a running status.
