(open in window)[00:00] Globally-scoped resources can be locked or have limited edit access. This is very similar to locking project scope resources except we're working in a different scope. I'm here in my Designer in the Project Browser under Global, I have my Alarm Notification Pipelines, and I would like to lock these down. So, first, we need to flag these resources as protected, so, I want to protect My Pipeline here, so I can just right-click on it, and from the menu that appears, I'll select the Protect menu item. Now that I've flagged this resource as protected, I need to specify which role a user should have to be able to edit it. Again, this is done by role, except we need to specify it on the Gateway. So, I'm going to minimize my Designer here. I'm in the Configure section, under System and Gateway Settings. So, we scroll on down this list of properties here. There is a Global Resource Protection property. If left blank, then anyone with Designer access can modify globally-protected resources. But, I can specify a comma-separated list of roles here. I'm going to paste in a role I created specifically to allow edit access to my globally-protected resources. Once you've listed the roles you want, scroll down to the bottom of the page, click Save Changes, and you've successfully locked down your global resources.
